New Ships, Repositioning Ships…..Growth is in the future for Norwegian Cruise Lines

The Norwegian EPIC made her debut this summer to outstanding reviews by the travel industry and passengers alike. If you think you are critical of a new cruise ship, simply sit in on a group of travel agents as they discuss the newest and latest in the industry and see what we have to say. We tend to be brutally honest as we know that you, our clients, expect us to guide you in your choice of ships. They are not all alike and now more then ever they are becoming more specialized in many ways. The EPIC, for instance, has its emphasis on entertainment and nearly 20 restaurants and lounges. From BLUE MAN GROUP to LEGENDS IN CONCERT to the only ICE BAR at SEA, the choices are wide and varied. Obviously the success of the EPIC, which will be spending next summer in Europe, has led NCL to announce two new ships will be completed in 2013 and 2014. SHIP INSPECTIONS BY THE CENTER FOR DISEASE CONTROL AND PREVENTION

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention conducts the most stringent sanitation inspections for cruise ship cleanliness. This inspection is conducted unannounced twice a year. From a perfect score of 100 a ship must score at least 86 to pass. In the past three months seven ships have scored perfect scores of 100! They include SAPPHIRE PRINCESS, CARNIVAL VALOR, COSTA ATLANTICA, DIAMOND PRINCESS, JEWEL OF THE SEAS, NORWEGIAN SPIRIT, and the brand new NORWEGIAN EPIC for which it was earned on its first-ever inspection. These inspections include food storage, potable water and all area of ship sanitation. The last time a cruise ship did not pass these stringent requirements was in 2008.
